Welcome to episode Zero. This episode is to tell you what we are about and what you can [00:01:00] expect from this show. This show is for business owners who own service businesses who are currently generating 500,000 to 700,000 or more in annual revenue and want to grow to over a million, 5 million, 10 million plus in annual revenue.
There are already a lot of shows and information for startups, but this one is different. You have created so much already, and your questions are at a different level. The episodes of this show will answer questions such as busting through what's stopping you, the surest way to guaranteed wealth, why you don't already have what you want.
Employees are not your family. Your ability to grow is directly related to your ability to delegate, how to recession proof your business, and when it's a good time to have what we call T-Rex.
The beginning episodes will be a little more basic, so everyone is up to speed. You will get specific business strategies that answer and [00:02:00] answers that when implemented, will give you a strong foundation for growing your business to over 5 million, 10 million or more in annual revenue.
Who are we and why would you even want to listen to us? My name's Jerry Kezhaya. I came to Texas from Detroit with a rusted out old car, a toolbox, and a total of $1,100 to my name. I was only 22 years old. I became a self-made millionaire by the time I was 34, a multi-millionaire by the time I was 36, and I currently have over $50,000 in passive income every single month for my investments. I've built and sold multiple businesses.
Built and sold multiple buildings and used commercial land to do it. And I've done everything at a profit. I also take time to stay involved in my local community. And by the way, my wife and I travel an awful lot. We have averaged 130 days a year for the last 13 years.
And my name is Dr. Laura [00:03:00] Shwaluk. I came to Texas from Canada when I was 23 years old with $300 a bicycle and some clothing.
That's about it. I built and sold a million dollar chiropractic practice. I've written three books and given hundreds of live talks. You've probably heard the quote beside every successful man as a great woman. Well, that's me, and I do mean that most sincerely, I help Jerry manage all of our businesses.
Both of us have been guests regularly on television, CBS B s, Fox, N B C Radio podcasts in the US as well as internationally because we're experts in our field and on explosive business growth. We started business builders in 2015, and our real mentors with real business and real mentoring experience.
We started business Builders in 2015 and our real mentors with real business and mentoring experience. What makes us unique compared to other coaches and podcasters is that we [00:04:00] own service businesses. Everyone is looking at you for answers that you may not have or maybe not sure about not a great leadership quality.
Well, now you have a resource to ask your questions.
Why are we doing this? First, it's because God told us to and because we were once in your shoes, we didn't know who to ask and maybe we're too afraid to ask. Oh, so we learned by making a lot of mistakes and had a lot of inaccurate thinking. Yeah, this is our way of helping business owners get up to speed to create the life you values dreamed of.
And there may be a possibility that you are a fit for our mastermind group of amazing business owners. Imagine being in a room of business owners who are way beyond talking about it. They are actually doing it, really
doing it. There will always be a section in each episode called The Hard Truth. That's the stuff no one wants to hear about, but it'll save your ass later.
Here's your [00:05:00] first hard truth. Business can be hard. It can even suck at times, and that is where your growth is. Have you ever felt like giving up, selling it, shutting it down, just walking away from it? It's times like this when you have your biggest opportunities to grow, pivot into something better, or jump to the next level.
The hard truth is your business is a reflection of you. You are the leader. You are the one who needs to make a change, whether an attitude, mindset, or learning new information. That's what we're here for.
Each episode is short and to the point and has questions to help you grow and take actions.
We'll end every episode by asking you a question that is what we call growth work. No one likes homework. It reminds us of school and memorizing useless information. Growth work is strategically asked to help you think, help you grow, help you succeed. Be sure to do the growth. Every week to get the [00:06:00] most out of these out of this show.
By the way, you can find the growth work questions in the transcription show notes of each episode, and on our website, BBMMusa.com That's B as in business, B as in builders for mentor mastermind usa.com. Today's growth work is three questions.
Number one, Can you commit to listening to an expert 20 minutes once per week to help you grow your business and your wealth?
That's question number one. Question number two, are you willing to do the growth work each week to move you forward in your business? Question number three. Are you willing to give something up to make that growth happen? Time, energy. If you answered yes to these three questions, you are in the right place and we promise.
We promise we will help you reach your goals, dreams and desires. [00:07:00]
They say, not to make promises you can't keep, and we just made a promise. Now we ask you to make a promise. Promise us that if you have a question about something we said, or you have a question about your business or a question about your investment, you will reach out to us.
Will you do that? We don't know what's going on for you in your business, so please reach [email protected]. Oh yeah, the disclaimer. Here's your disclaimer. We're not CPAs. We're not lawyers. We're business owners, so sometimes we might need to send you in a different direction. We're not giving legal or tax advice, so speak to proper counsel for that kind of stuff.
And who is this podcast not for? This is not for multi-level marketing, solopreneurs, product development, or startups. Hey, nothing against them. It's just that our niche is service businesses. Service companies who've been around a while [00:08:00] have employees, and the owner is not so much in the field anymore.
They have made the jump from Chuck and a truck or Dan in a van to running the business and they've hit a plateau. That's not giving them the freedom and the life that they thought that they'd have at this point.
There will be some interviews, however, most of this show will be business content. The essentials, like employees, marketing, sales, standard operating procedures, automating systems, mindset, exit strategy, investments, and guaranteed.
Thanks for tuning in. Thanks for trusting us. Thank you for your questions, and most of all, thanks for implementing the information to grow your business and your wealth. That feels good. That feels good.
